New School Construction – Marionneaux Elementary School
The campus, located at 24155 W. Roeser Road, has three separate buildings. One dedicated to kindergarten through fifth-grade students, another for sixth-grade through eighth-grade students and the third building contains the gymnasium, kitchen, and library.
Marionneaux Elementary School opened August 4, 2017 with 750 students. The school sits on 15.17 acres of land and is 86,174 square feet featuring three buildings serving kindergarten through eighth-grade. The school was designed by Hunt & Caraway Architects and constructed by CORE Construction
The school’s student capacity is approximately 1,000 for Kindergarten through eighth grade.
The classrooms are designed with flexible work-space floor-plans, state-of-the-art teaching technologies, including a S.T.E.M. (Science Technology, Engineering and Math) Lab, natural lighting, high-tech security systems and other features to enhance the educational experience.

Security System upgrades at all sites
New electronic security equipment provides technology for better security at every BESD school and the Central Office. To enter a school facility, a person must be allowed in by the front office personnel who have the ability to see the person at the door via security cameras.
New security camera systems have been installed.
BESD employees use special badges to gain access through all secure doors.

Inca Elementary School – Replaced wrought iron fencing.
Sundance Elementary wrought iron panels replaced
WestPark regrading completed. Water drainage now diverted properly to avoid turf damage.

New turf was installed on the school’s playground. The addition of artificial turf ensures a clean surface for Bales students to play on, as well as being sustainable by not having to water
Bales Elementary School received much needed face-lift in 2017. The exterior was repainted during the summer.
New security gate with ID card reader

Carpet was eliminated in high traffic areas to save on future costs.
Polished concrete in nurses area.
Carpet was replaced in all classrooms and offices.
Polished Concrete will allow for heavy traffic with minimal wear and tear.
