School Tax Credit
Academic field trips and after-school clubs are programs that depend on fees from students. However, staff, families and community members can help pay with Arizona Public School Tax Credits.
Arizona tax law (ARS 43-1089.01) allows taxpayers a credit for contributions made or fees paid to a public school for support of extracurricular activities. The credit is a dollar for dollar credit that is equal to the amount contributed or the amount of fees paid. However, the credit cannot exceed $200 for single taxpayers or heads of household. For married taxpayers who file a joint return, the credit cannot exceed $400. You do not need to have a student enrolled in school to contribute!
Tax Credit forms are available at any school or at the District Office located at 25555 West Durango St – Buckeye, Arizona 85326. Contributions made between January 1st and April 15th may be used as a tax credit on the current year or the previous year Arizona income tax return. As always, consult your Tax Advisor.
